Prof. Chinedu Ositadinma Nebo, PhD, OON, NPOM

Prof.Chinedu Ositadinma Nebo was appointed on the 4th February 2013 as the new Minister of Power for the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the President His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR. Professor Nebo is a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering (First Class Honors and University-wide Prize for Outstanding Student). He would follow with a Master of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering and Science, all from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology U.S.A. He served as visiting Professor of Metallurgical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and the University of Nevada, Reno, in the U.S.

Engr. (Mrs.) Bahijjahtu Hadiza Abubakar National Coordinator Renewbale Energy Programme of Nigeria,

Hadiza is a Mechanical Engineer and also holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and is currently pursuing part time PhD in the same course. Both degrees are from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.Engr. Abubakar is currently the National Coordinator of the Renewable Energy Programme of the Federal Ministry of Environment and is an avid advocate for the environment. She represents the Federal Ministry of Environment on several boards and her spirited concern for the earth has earned her national and international accolades. She is on the Board of Directors of Access to Renewable Rnergy (AtRE), a project funded by UNDP and the Bank of Industry, Nigeria.

Professor Eli Jidere Bala Director General/CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria

Professor Eli Jidere Bala Gradutated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Second Class Upper Division) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977 and subsequently Master of Engineering degree in 1980. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Applied Energy from Cranfield Institute of Technology, United Kingdom in 1984. Professor Bala rose through the ranks from Graduate Assistant in 1978 to become Senior Lecturer in Ahmadu Bello University in 1987 and subsequently Professor of Applied energy in 2004 in the same university. He has written many papers and articles published in reputable international and local academic journals, conference proceedings and technical reports in the area of Applied Energy. He is happily married with children.

Ngeri S. Benebo, Director General National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA)

Dr. (Mrs.) Ngeri S. Benebo the Director General/CEO of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA). Dr Benebo born on May 11, 1955, hails from Okirika, River State, in the Niger-Delta Region of Nigeria. Before her appointment, Dr. Benebo was a Director in the Pollution Control and Environmental Health Department of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Abuja, Nigeria where she among other things supervised the development of the National Environmental Sanitation Policy, Guidelines and Action Plan. Dr. Benebo holds a National Award of the “Member Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR)”; other awards of distinction held by Dr. Benebo include the National Productivity Merit Award (NPMA) and the Federal Ministry of Health Merit Award. Dr Benebo is a professional per excellence with sound analytical and research skills combined with substantive experience in management and administration; her work experience in the health and environment sectors span over twenty-seven years. She is familiar with scientific and technical backgrounds of multilateral environmental conventions on Biodiversity, air and water pollution, climate change, and waste management amongst others.

Dr. Segun Adaju Project Manager, Access to Renewable Energy (AtRE) at UNDP/Bank of Industry

Segun Adaju is a graduate of the University of Lagos and a holder of BSc (Economics) and MBA degrees with over two decades of banking experience in reputable financial institutions in Nigeria. He is currently the Project Manager, Access to Renewable Energy, a collaboration between United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Bank of Industry Nigeria to promote investments and development of renewable energy projects in Nigeria. Prior to this, he was Principal Consultant/CEO of BlueOcean Consulting Ltd, MD/CEO of GS Microfinance Bank Ltd, and Deputy Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of Integrated Microfinance Bank Ltd, the first microfinance bank to be licensed in Nigeria which he co-promoted. He was an Assistant Vice President with First City Monument Bank Plc as Zonal Head, Lagos and started his banking career with Crystal Bank of Africa Ltd in 1992 as an Executive Trainee in Financial Control department. He also had a stint at Equity Bank of Nigeria from 1994 till 2002 and held various responsibilities such as Head, Strategic Planning, Group Head, Commercial Banking and Manager, Akure branch. He joined First Atlantic Bank Plc in October 2002 as Manager, Victoria Island branch, he was at Standard Trust Bank Plc between 2004 and 2005 as Business Manager Akin Adesola. He studied electrical engineering at the Moscow Power Institute (USSR) obtaining an M.Sc (Hydropower Station) in 1974. He received his Ph.D in Electrical Power System Engineering from the University of London in 1979. He started his working career first at the Obafemi Awolowo University and was engaged in teaching, research and development and later in three other Universities (UNILAG, UNILORIN and Ondo State University now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) up to 1992 when he joined the Energy Commission of Nigeria while still in Lagos.
