Founder of the Green Campus Initiative,

Biography

Adenike Akinsemolu is the founder of the Green Campus Initiative, an organization dedicated to
encouraging students and staff to think green, adopt green lifestyle, use bicycles and public
transportation; use renewable sources of energy; reduce resource usage through recycling; raise
Eco-conscious citizens by structuring curricular to focus more on sustainability; promote social
entrepreneurship through the development of vocational skills, and create overall environmental
awareness.

The Green Campus Initiative has been awarded two distinguished green awards by the University of Western Cape for green campus activities and programme. In addition, she is a lecturer at Adeyemi University of Education and the Director of Sciences at Homaj Schools, Ondo. Adenike is currently a Doctoral Candidate of Environmental Microbiology at the Federal University of Technology. She is also a passionate advocate for educating and empowering the female child through the Girl Prize Initiative. Adenike is an active member of the Clinton Global Initiative University
